Malcolm Kirby Jr.

I studied music recording and music theory for three semesters at Finger Lakes Community College. One of the professors there, Malcolm Kirby Jr., gave me bass guitar lessons during all three semesters. He also instructed my jazz ensemble. And during my third semester, he was my audio recording professor, teaching me how to use Pro Tools. Although I could have been a much better student, he taught me a lot of valuable things during my time there, and I'm really glad he was my teacher.

It's somehow been about 5 years since I left school, and Malcolm isn't a teacher there anymore. He now produces for various artists, writes music for movies and television, and still plays bass.

He has a facebook page for his music now, and he's put some tracks on his bandcamp page. Here are two of my favorites. Notice you can download "Destructive Habits" for free.

I think now I need to get him to give me some electronic music lessons.
